Baby Autumn and Mr.Toad |

The figures are all on soldered wire, and then bulked out with aluminum foil. Baby is then covered with a thin layer of black Sculpey Premo polymer clay, to cover the armature, then it is baked at the manufacturers specs. Once that is cooled, I then start to fill out the figure applying the clay like musculature. (knowledge of anatomy is always helpful) Once I have completed that stage, it gets baked again. The wings are made using Fantasy Film (a type of heat fusible foil) I used a little Tacky Glue to secure the film to the wings temporarily while I work on the figure before baking again. I then paint on a thin coating of Fimo Gel to strengthen the wing membrane (fantasy film). Before I bake, I add pigment powder to the black polymer clay, for coloring, and add other details such as texture, set crystals, eyes, etc. It then gets baked again. Once this is done, all that is left to do is add any other type of details Like painting with acrylic, or scratching out more textures. Lastly I seal the figure with Sculpey Satin finish. Mr. Toad is done pretty much the same way, except he was sculpted out of white Sculpey Original, and painted with metallic, and pearl Acrylic paint.

This is Autumns Heart-Stone. I gifted it to her when She was created. It is Swarovski Volcano. It is what inspired her coloring.
She is a little crazy like her momma. Just look at all her baubles she has collected in her nest! Mr. Toad doesn't seem to mind.
This is her "Nite-Lite" (battery operated LED Tea-light)...Just like all little ones, she is afraid of the dark.
The base before painting. I placed everything where it should be before the Celluclay sets up (makes it easier to find where to glue later on)
Eyes are made by me!...From scratch!
The crystals are all Swarovski: Fire Opal, Volcano, and Green Tourmaline.

I used masking tape to help secure the aluminum foil around the soldered wires.
Yep! This piece is for sale, If you can afford it! I banked at least 100 hours under the Dreaming Tree breathing life into this baby and her best buddy...$600.00 + shipping. I am currently searching for a nice enough base to foundation this sculpture.
