Pyrography is a fancy word for Wood Burning. This is another medium I discovered while in High School. Once I got past the fear of hurting myself or ruining lots of hard work with a bad mistake, I began to really love it!

 

Even though it takes many hours of slow-paced, tedious work... The results can be outstanding. I also love the smell of the wood burning. It brings me to the joys of Autumn in New England; Cool, crisp air, the smell of wood fireplaces...and the crunch of dried leaves underfoot. My favorite season.

I like to add a little tint to most finished pieces; Just a lovely wash of color, or shimmer. I sometimes like to embed a crystal here, or there... When my inner "Magpie" calls for it, of course.
